Air conditioning Service
Air – conditioning systems need to be serviced at regular intervals because 10% of its refrigerant is lost per year via natural evaporation, escaping through hoses and hose connections. This means that the refrigeration capacity is reduced after a relatively short space of time. Additionally, a lack of refrigerant always means a risk of insufficient compressor lubrication which could result in the total failure of the compressor, an expensive repair cost. Also, an insufficient quantity of refrigerating agent means additional petrol consumption because the compressor must run more often and longer to cool the passenger compartment.
Furthermore, the passenger compartment filter of your air-conditioning system needs replacing annually. A poor serviced air-conditioning system is a health hazard as the air-conditioning system’s evaporator is part of the ventilation system located under the dashboard, an ideal place for bacteria, fungi and micro-organisms to breed. In persons prone to allergic reactions these allergens may cause sneezing, coughing and watery eyes. Disinfection of the evaporator at regular intervals will easily solve the problem.
We also recommend that you have the coolant checked at the same time as your air-conditioning service as an air-conditioning system makes additional demands on the engine cooling system.
